Summary: Chapa Farmstay is a unique experience. It's about 20 minutes from Sapa town proper which is great. Very quiet and pristine. The little cabins are comfortable, with incredible views and the bathrooms are modern.
But the best part of our stay was the host family. We had such a great time chatting with the grandparents during meals, sitting around the fire on cold early mornings and playing with the children.
They arranged for our one day trek with a fun lunch in village along the way - ending with a traditional Red Hmong herbal hot tub experience.
Our last evening they invited us to join their family dinner and drink rice wine.
They also linked us with a local taxi driver who ferried us in and out of town as needed.
Staying with the family at Chapa Farmstay was the highlight of our 3 week vietnam trip!! We stayed for 3 nights and wished we could have added 2 more.

Summary: Good hosts and good family. They are very hospitable and very nice. It doesn’t matter if you are a solo traveler or with others, you will be cared for the same as if you were one of their family. It’s so peaceful, this is the best part of Vietnam, in my opinion.

Summary: This is truly a family-owned establishment that welcomes you into its heart. From the moment i entered the reception, I was invited to a seat around the fire with A-Bom's (i'm not sure how to spell his name, sorry!) parents and offered tangerines while the kids and nieces of the family gambol about. They welcomed me to dinner with them that night, and all in made me feel very at home.
The property is beautiful-- please spend some time exploring the grounds and enjoying the breathtaking views of the terraces (you can see them from your bed!!) and the adjoining valley and river. It's a short hike to a nearby suspension bridge and also the Hmong village. Location-wise it's about a 7km steady hike from town (4km drive), the roads are uneven so it's not necessarily a comfortable drive. I would suggest staying here as an escape from the bustle of town and as a starting point for exploring Lao Chai and Ta Van villages, and not as a point from which to explore sapa town itself.
I really wanted to extend my stay because the morning views were beyond gorgeous and the peace of the farmstay is indescribable. Will definitely be recommending this to friends!

Summary: This is the perfect getaway in Sa Pa. Located away from the town - which is extremely busy, touristy, and overwhelming, being able to stay at a quiet place surrounded by nature and beautiful views was amazing. The place is owned by a wonderful family who were very welcoming. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, a lovely balcony, and a super clean washroom. They had some great breakfast options and set dinner menus for each day (we had dinner once and it was lovely). They also offer organized activities such as treks, batik, and bracelet making. We did one guided trek and it was the perfect hike that included lunch at a local family's home.

Summary: Staying at Chappa Farmstay is an experience that I won’t soon forget. If you eschew the hotels and inns in Sapa Village in favour of a legit postcard perfect setting in the mountains, not just a view of the mountains. You’re in the valley, and you’re staying with a kind, helpful, and friendly family. I was travelling solo and they invited me to join them on their nightly family dinners, and the food was outstanding. The hose arranged a jaw dropping trek in the mountains, set up a ride back to the town for my return to Hanoi, and even arranged for my laundry to be picked up in town. This spot really is an oasis or serenity, and I can’t wait to return. You’re going to Sapa for the mountains and the experience, not to be coddled in a generic hotel in a town surrounded by souvenir shops.

Dining was a treat; the meals, both dinner and breakfast, were homemade and delicious. A big plus was the mosquito netting provided, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. Highly recommend for a charming countryside experience!
