Positive: Lady Hill Sapa Resort is a beautiful resort, of this there is no doubt. Staying in the executive suite facing the mountains garnered us an amazing view. The room was lavish and had all the amenities needed. And the hotel had a lovely pool, part of which was enclosed and turned into a jacuzzi for the winter months. Lovely. However, here is why I am still slightly disappointed with the hotel. First off, I arranged pick up from Lao Cai Railway Station, and NO ONE showed up. It was not until I had called 5 times and left multiple messages on WhatApp that I was finally told the driver had "car trouble." I do not believe this as if this was the case, then why didn't they contact me earlier? Why wait until I was irate and calling/texting? So, finally, through some negotiation, we were put in a taxi. Then, while en route was told would have to pay the driver in cash. This was not the agreed upon service, as I was prepared to pay hotel with my credit card. Then, upon arrival to the hotel, no "sorry," no "what can we do to make it up to you." Then, and this is the one I am still upset by, we were to the Fansipan cable car and monorail were closed, undergoing annual maintenance. Why was I not told this when I booked the hotel??? This is just common courtesy and customer service...to tell guests that the main reason people come to Sapa, Fansipan Mountain, is closed! But nothing. And why? For money, of course. Customer service in this hotel is lacking, plain and simple. The hotel itself is lovely, breakfast good, and Sapa a worth-seeing place despite it all, but for a highly rated hotel, there should be more from the front desk staff. So, although I do recommend staying here, you need to check and do all the leg work yourself for your own peace of mind and enjoyment. Do not expect much from the hotel.
