Positive: We absolutely loved spending a few days at Nha Lua Homestay. It's about 30 mins outside of Ninh Binh by taxi in a more rural area so it was a nice break from busier areas but there were still shops, cafes etc in the local area. Our room was lovely and the whole homestay was beautiful, full of bits of artwork by Huang's sister and father, with all the rooms looking out onto the garden and pool. We had a couple of very rainy afternoons, however the covered communal area with comfy chairs and its own fireplace was a great spot to shelter from the rain and relax with a book! Huang is an amazing host and was always so helpful and kind. The food was excellent and all cooked by Huang with lots of tasty options for breakfast, lunch or dinner as well as delicious smoothies! We were able to borrow bikes for free to explore the area around Van Long and the nature reserve for a boat trip was only a short ride away. We also joined Huang for a tour of the area and he managed to find two different groups of Delacour Langurs along the way which was a real highlight!
