Positive: The property itself is absolutely stunning. Fantastic value for their most basic room which exceeded expectations. I’d been staying in mostly budget hostels/hotels for the majority of my travel and this was the best bang for buck in a long time. Has all the facilities you could need and shops open late in the resort to get any supplies.

Negative: Sadly ruined by the harassment from taxi drivers at the bottom of the hotel which are pretty much unavoidable. Basically trying to force customers to not use Grab taxi and use their own taxis - it felt like the certain resort staff and taxi drivers worked together on this. The resort is so far out a taxi is essential to get anywhere. I’ve travelled SE Asia for 3.5 months so I’m not oblivious to this kind of routine, however even this was a bit too much for me. Before I left I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and use their taxi service. Completely ignoring the initial agreed upon price, they proceeded to try and use the “taxi meter” which is just an app on their phone that I believe they set themselves. Luckily the driver accepted my assertiveness with this scam and went back to the original price, asked for a small tip on top of the agreed fair and we went our separate ways. I can sense that many people who stay here have more money than sense, or do not want to get in trouble with the locals, so will be vulnerable to this scam and pay 4x the price it should. Lesson learned - just get a Grab taxi and ignore them
